Gabi getting bigger

When we left Gabi was was just beginning to walk and was a little baby doll. Well she is still cute but she is baby doll no longer. Last weekend I dressed her all up in the cute outfit that Tia Margot gave her for her birthday. Proud as bunch of our little family, we went over to the local festival around the corner at the Nercon church. First Gabi went went at a big plate of roast lamb with both hands. Then she managed to dribble some orange soda down her front. And as the final act against the pinkishness, Gabi followed big brother around the dusty fair ground. When we went home for a diaper change, even abuelita Victoria called her mi sucita (my little dirty girl).

And while we are showing Gabi's true self.....Those pig tails look mighty funny when Gabi pulls the elastics out.
Lucky for Gabi and Berto, Chile is a kids' heaven. Seems like a kid can do just about anything here and Chileans will smile and call them cute. On a long bus and a long boat ride, random folks have cootchi cooed Berto and Gabi and then later offered them a toy. Berto and I have concluded that folks travel around with a new toy all ready to give them to a kid they meet. What a country!
